The Fermanagh Recreational Trust, administered by the Fermanagh Trust is open for applications. The Trust supports the organisation, development and funding of recreational activities and facilities in Co. Fermanagh with particular emphasis on young people and youth development. Constituted sporting and arts-based organisations or individuals based in Fermanagh can apply.
The latest round of grants has supported a range of talented individuals and organisations from the local area, helping them pursue excellence in their respective fields. Among the recipients are Naoise McManus and Darragh Love, both members of the GB National Wrestling Squad, who will receive support for training kit, fight costs, and travel to monthly training sessions and competitions in Manchester. Jake Irwin, representing the Ulster and Ireland Rugby U18 Squad, will benefit from funding to support his travel to intensive training sessions in Belfast and Dublin. Swimmer Jamie Lannon, a member of Enniskillen Lakelanders, has also received funding to cover equipment costs as he competes in a variety of events.

Two Clubs catering for young people from across Fermanagh have also received grants to enhance their activities and facilities. Enniskillen Lakelanders secured funding to ensure members can continue training in Omagh and Fivemiletown, as the Forum pool prepares to close. Enniskillen Royal Boat Club will upgrade its safety equipment and invest in cox boxes and stroke coaches to help rowers refine their technique and improve performance. These grants showcase a shared commitment to nurturing both individual talent and community sports development.
Potential areas of support include provision of equipment, provision of courses, training and coaching, contribution towards training or training costs, contribution towards the development of facilities, bursaries to assist individuals develop their potential and activities / events which will benefit young people. An opportunity for individuals in helping to develop their careers. For local organisations this is a chance to utilise and enhance their provision including training new volunteers and encouraging increased levels of participation by young people.
