The Fermanagh Young Leaders Programme is proud to announce the launch of a new grant aimed at supporting groups who support/would like to support individuals with disabilities and/or mental health challenges. With over two decades of experience in fund management, the Fermanagh Trust has entrusted young leaders to take the reins, fostering leadership skills, enhancing the capacity of young grant-makers, and creating opportunities for local organisations to secure funding and benefit the Fermanagh community.
This year, the Young Leaders have initiated the ‘Fermanagh’s Helping Hands’ grant award, which aspires to enhance the quality of life for those facing the challenges associated with disabilities and mental health issues, with grants of up to £1500 from Fermanagh Trust to be awarded to groups.
Emma Snow, one of the Fermanagh Young Leaders stated: “We are all deeply passionate about addressing the issues targeted by this grant. We are like-minded individuals dedicated to improving our local community, and I am confident we can make a significant impact. It is crucial that charities and groups supporting vulnerable individuals receive the necessary assistance to continue their incredible work and we look forward to seeing applications coming in from local organisations. I am really excited to work with the team through the application process to agree where the funding should be allocated.”
Eligible organisations must be based in County Fermanagh, focus on mental health or disability initiatives, have an organisational bank account and provide evidence of previous work.
Sonya Johnston, Deputy Director of the Fermanagh Trust, facilitator of the Young Leaders Programme which is now in it’s fifth year, said: “We are delighted to invest in the development of this year’s young leaders, helping them build their skills and confidence. We hope they will continue to support their communities for years to come. It has been rewarding to see this group progress through various planning and negotiation stages to launch their own grant, benefitting groups and individuals across the County.”
