Enniskillen Royal Boat Club's new boat
Recent grants recipients include Enniskillen Athletic Amateur Boxing Club. The Club’s development plan of continued progression of the boys and girls means the club needs to improve its facilities and equipment which the Fermanagh Recreational Trust is supporting. Derrygonnelly Harps used their grant award to purchase equipment to enhance the range of activities they can provide for younger children, and help increase participation within these age groups, introducing younger children to Gaelic football.
Ellie McCartney’s swimming success involves an intense training schedule which the Fermanagh Recreational Trust is supporting. Ellie, as part of the Swim Ireland National Squad will be competing in a number of upcoming international competitions. This is working towards the aim of competing in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Erne Paddlers will utilise the funding to support their programme of development and participation for people of all abilities, especially targeting schools and underrepresented groups to engage in paddle sport on Lough Erne. The Trust is helping Enniskillen Royal Boat Club purchase new boats. The successful club has over 100 rowers aged between 12 – 18. The young rowers are highly dedicated, committed and hungry to succeed. The new boats will hugely improve the club’s ability to develop sporting skills.
James Cooper, trustee of the Fermanagh Recreational Trust said “We understand that the last year has been incredibly challenging and difficult for sport and athletes and we are therefore determined to offer support wherever we can. Congratulations to those who have received grant awards so far and we wish all of them every success. Great sport is prominent in the County and we hope to reach even more individuals and clubs with grants towards the considerable costs of competing, equipment and training.”
Applications for the next round of funding from the Fermanagh Recreational Trust will close 28th February 2021. For more information or to download an application form CLICK HERE / E: firstname.lastname@example.org / Tel: 028 66 320 210
