Mantlin Ltd, owners of the Slieve Rushen Wind farm in southwest Fermanagh have today (25th April 2017) announced a new community fund in conjunction with the Fermanagh Trust. Mantlin Ltd will donate £50,000 a year to the Fermanagh Trust to support the initiative and it is hoped that this funding will continue throughout the lifetime of the wind farm’s operation.

The Fund will be open for applications through the Fermanagh Trust, to community and voluntary organisations/projects which are not politically affiliated and which are located within a ten-mile radius of the Slieve Rushen Wind farm.

Speaking at the launch of the new Fund in Enniskillen, Mantlin Ltd Director, Adrien Pinsard said “As a company we have been very committed to doing something for the local community which will leave a legacy long after we are gone. It is a long-standing principle of our business to become integrated with the communities where we invest. We regard ourselves as long-term investors, committed to our projects.

“We have been very impressed by the work of the Fermanagh Trust and in particular the inclusive nature of its programmes. Lauri and his team seem a natural fit as partners for Mantlin Ltd and we are delighted that they will operate this new community Fund on our behalf.

“We hope that over time many local community organisations and voluntary groups will see the benefit of this initiative.”

Director of the Fermanagh Trust, Lauri McCusker said ‘‘This new fund established by Mantlin Ltd provides the local community with a real opportunity to access financial support to contribute to community life here and that’s an exciting development.

‘‘We are looking forward to working with Mantlin Ltd and getting resources and much needed funding out on the ground. We know from our work over the last 21 years of the terrific voluntary initiatives in place across South West Fermanagh and the border hinterlands and we are confident this funding will be of tremendous benefit to the community’’
