Joan Trimble Awards support "Bursaries for Beckett"

 

Your chance to attend the Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival. The Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival which will take place on Thursday 22nd August – Monday 26th August in Enniskillen, is a multi-arts international celebration of Nobel Prize winning writer Samuel Beckett, who attended Portora Royal School from 1920-1923.
 
This year’s festival includes a “Bursaries for Beckett” scheme, thanks to the Joan Trimble Awards, administered by the Fermanagh Trust, whereby 20 bursaries of £50 will be made available for local young people to use towards the purchase of tickets for 1 or more of this year’s events.
 
The 2013 Happy Days Festival will include events spanning theatre, literature, classical music, visual arts, exhibitions, film and comedy. In addition this year they will be bringing in new art forms such a cirque and mime, clown and variety, singer-songwriters and street theatre. As well as artists from the UK and Ireland a wide range of international work will be presented with artists from France, Portugal, Australia, Poland and America. For your chance to attend this exciting Festival, the suggested criteria for applications are:
  • Must be aged between 16-25
  • Must normally reside in Fermanagh, though students temporarily living away from home will be considered.
No formal application form will need to be filled in, just send an email to beckettbursaries@happy-days-enniskillen.com to include name, DOB, occupation/ educational status and a 100 word statement as to why the bursary should be awarded to you. Closing date is 16th August.
